This week I had the opportunity to sit down for coffee with Sav Dhaliwal to discuss Burnaby, the work of City Council, and the challenges facing our growing city.
As someone preparing to run for City Council, I believe it’s important to learn from those who have already spent years serving the community. Our conversation gave me valuable insight into the realities of municipal leadership, the complexity of city decisions, and the many perspectives that shape Burnaby’s future.
We spoke about the responsibilities of council, the importance of listening to residents, and the balance required when making decisions that affect neighbourhoods across the city.
I appreciated Councillor Dhaliwal taking the time to meet and share his perspective. Conversations like this help me better understand the role of council and reinforce my commitment to engaging directly with residents, community leaders, and those currently serving our city.
As I continue preparing for the upcoming municipal election, my focus remains the same: listening, learning, and understanding the issues that matter most to the people who call Burnaby home.
